EMPLOYMENT GENERATION ACTIVITY TO SELF HELP GROUP

Under cotton mini mission – II, KVK implemented INM, IPM and farm Implement FLDs. In IPM FLDs, spraying of 5 % NSKE is the major component. So we identified one self help group named ‘Annapurna Mahila Bachatgat’ in village Kolda of Nandurbar district. This self help group consists of 17 farm women. KVK arranged on farm and off farm training programmes on ‘Production of Neem Seed Kernel Powder’ to women of this self help group. Also an exposure visit was arranged to NSKE production unit. Now this self help group is engaged in production of Neem seed powder from last year. This unit was inaugurated by Dr. Kokate, DOE, MPKV, Rahuri.

This self help group sold 32 qt. of Neem seed powder in the year 2007-08 and earned Rs. 48,000. In the year 2008-09, this self help group sold 60 qts. Of Neem seed powder and earned Rs. 90,000.

Thus with regard to Cotton Mini Mission II, a new venture was initiated and it has established as Income generating activity for SHG.
