The Agro processing as an enterprise

Bimonthly meeting of innovative farmers called 'Krishak Mandal' is now renovated with vigorous brainstorming with farmers and KVK scientist. Hence further each Krishak Mandal meeting will be gathering of farmers based on certain themes.

The meeting of the Krishak Mandal (5th January 2010) was organised on the theme 'Agro processing as an enterprise'.

The selected Self Help Groups were finalized after due discussion with the concerned department and NGOs.

The SMS, Post Harvest Engineering and SMS, Home Science delivered informative lectures succeeded by interactions. 65 members of 18 SHGs attended the Krishak Mandal.The follow up plan was also discussed and the further trainings needs amusement and the training schedule were finalized during the meeting.

A bimonthly meeting of progressive and innovative farmers of Nandurbar district.

This meeting is held on 5th day of alternate month at KVK, Nandurbar. Agricultural

scientists are invited to guide the farmers on the related crops. KVK scientists also

impart lectures.

It includes Direct farmers-to-scientist interaction, Feedback from farmers and

Experience sharing of the farmers. It helps for availability of farmers field for FLDs.



Achievement

Involvement of the members in Adaptive Trials of Research Institute and two members

have received prestigious Krishi Bhushan Award of the State Government.
