- To conduct training programs for the tribal and non tribal farmers
- To conduct skill upgrading programmes for tribal youth to check their migration
- To conduct FLDs (Frontline demonstrations) on oilseed and pulses in order to
improve productivity and restore the nutritional security for tribal communities - To organise participatory seed production of newly released varieties
- To provide training to extension functionaries of public and private organizations specifically working for tribal development
- To collect land races from tribal area and maintain them at KVK instructional farm
- To document the indigenous technical knowledge of tribals regarding agriculture and water management
- To conduct OFTs on the tools for drudgery reduction in tribals, particularly for tribal women
- To recommend soil test based fertilizer management for sustainable agriculture
