The Nandurbar district of Maharashtra includes major percentage of tribal community. The tribal people, especially, women
lack proper nutrition and thus develop malnutrition. Moreover, the only source of earning is farming and most people work
in the fields with traditional instruments which are time consuming and require more efforts.
The Home science division of the KVK deals with the tribal women activities. This section deals with all women oriented
programmes with the aim of economic empowerment of tribal life through dissemination of appropriate science and
technology for acquisition of economic and income earning skills by tribal women.
